A Mount Education

At the Mount, where the college president is often on a first-name basis with many of the students, you will be treated like a big fish in a small pond. Quality of experience is emphasized over quantity of faces in the crowd. While you won’t find massive homecoming ceremonies or elaborate pledge weeks, that doesn’t mean community college life is lacking in excitement. What you will find are intramural sports, student organizations, events, and government, just like any other school. Convenient class schedules are our specialty—including full semester, accelerated 7-week courses, day, evening, and online options.

Affordable Community College

In an economy where every dollar counts, the Mount’s cost of attendance is the exception to the sticker-shock of tuition prevalent today. A Mount education not only costs a fraction of what students pay at private institutions, but it beats public universities, too! Mount Wachusett Community College offers one of the lowest tuitions of any college or university in New England—$6,700 a year—and more than $325,000 in scholarships awarded through the MWCC Foundation annually. Our low tuition, combined with comprehensive financial aid opportunities, make the Mount education affordable to all. See if you’re eligible for FREE college!

Degree Or Certificate?

An associate degree prepares you for a career or to transfer to another college or university. As a full-time student, you may complete your required courses in as little as two years, or choose to attend part-time and complete your associate degree at a pace more convenient for you. Certificates are ideal for quickly acquiring training to launch a career, strengthen current skills, or pursue an interest. You can also “ladder” your skills by earning your certificate first, which can take as little as one year to complete, then continuing to earn your degree while working in your chosen field.

Transfer Is Easy.

MWCC has transfer agreements with many colleges in Massachusetts and beyond, which allows an easy transfer of your earned credits toward a bachelor’s degree and beyond. After being accepted, your MWCC Academic Counselor will help you map out your goals and guide you throughout your journey, keeping you on track for a successful transfer to a college or university.

“Mount Wachusett Community College pushed me out of my comfort zone or, should I say, gently nudged me with their guidance and assistance in completing my first degree at the age of 61. I am not your typical undergraduate. I am not the typical age, not the typical student, and I certainly did not take the typical amount of time to complete this degree.”

“I can tell you right now, I would not be as good of a student as I am if I did not have disabilities services supporting me. I was always a good student, but they have really helped me to excel, and I have managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA the entire time I have been at MWCC”

“I think that’s why the program is so successful. You have professors who have had real life experience and always really want their students to succeed. I’m an example of that. I’m a product of that and I’m forever grateful to the Mount.”

Yasmine Kanaan

“I have gone from a lost young adult with no goals and no identity, to a student with a high GPA, an associate’s degree in business that I was able to complete in one year, and an acceptance to the University of Massachusetts.”

“For those who are battling a disability, MWCC encouraged me and gave me a solid foundation to achieve my educational and career goals. There were times that I felt like giving up, but I kept moving forward and soon I will start a PhD program. It is all up to you.”
