Marketing Your Small Business, Marketing Yourself

Sales and Marketing – One Size Does Not Fit All

Sales and marketing strategies that work for one business or organization might not necessarily work for another. Examine the obvious (and the not-so-obvious) differences between businesses, discuss the messages we are sending to our prospective customers, and learn sales and marketing strategies to help service more clients and sell more products.

Sales Training Basics

Are you involved in direct market sales in a home-based business? This course is the perfect primer. You'll explore the psychology of selling, questioning techniques, closing a sale, telephone selling, and more. Through a series of interactive exercises you'll learn techniques of selling and the importance of a positive attitude and self-image.

Social Media Marketing to Grow Business

Leverage social media marketing for small business growth. Learn what social media is and how a non-technical person can use a free resource to build brand equity. Explore social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and NING in scalable, strategic ways with plans and guidelines for getting started immediately. Build a Twitter account for your personal or business use.

Build a Dynamic Website

Learn the basics of website development. Learn how to create and publish a dynamic website using software (no programming knowledge necessary). Students should be familiar with Windows.

Website Fundamentals With Photoshop and Dreamweaver

Intensive hands-on introduction to building effective and informative websites. Web theory, navigation, viewer interactivity and Internet fundamentals will be explored. Gain an overview of two of the most commonly used website-building software programs, Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver. No computer or software prerequisites. Individual websites will be produced.

Localizing Your Website to Generate Regional Leads

Learn how having web presence opens your business to a world-wide market. For some businesses, that makes sense, for others it doesn’t. If your business sells or services a regional target audience, this course is for you.

Home-based Web and Email Hosting

Learn about running a mixed static/dynamic internal LAN IP network so you can run a server at home and get the benefits of a dynamic IP network. Receive the necessary software to create and run a home-based web and email server.
