MOUNT WACHUSETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE RESPONDS TO THREAT

 

(GARDNER)—Mount Wachusett Community College President Daniel M. Asquino announced today that the college had received an anonymous bomb threat. The event is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police. “We have taken the appropriate steps to ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff,” said Asquino. “After consulting with law enforcement officials, we have decided to increase security on our campus and remain open.” Classes will be held as scheduled. “We take this threat seriously,” said Asquino, “but if we were to close, we would encourage other threats of a similar nature.” The campus will be routinely patrolled by an increased police presence. “We will be diligent and continue to work with law enforcement officials,” said Asquino.
