MOUNT WACHUSETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESENTS 2003 HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ INVITATIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

 

(GARDNER)— Mount Wachusett Community College will host the 15th Annual Girls’ High School Basketball Tournament, Sat., Feb. 15, through Thurs., Feb. 20, at the College’s Fitness and Wellness Center. (See attached schedule) One scholarship will be awarded to a player on each team. Last year, 16 scholarships worth $450 each were awarded to players.

When the tournament began thirteen years ago, only four teams participated. This year, 16 teams—four times as many as the first tournament—will participate:

  • Bromfield High School
  • Fitchburg High School
  • Gardner High School
  • Littleton High School
  • Lunenburg High School
  • Murdock High School
  • Narragansett Regional High School
  • Nashoba Regional High School
  • North Middlesex Regional High School
  • Notre Dame Academy
  • Quabbin Regional High School
  • St. Bernard's High School
  • St. Peter-Marian High School
  • Sutton High School
  • Tantasqua Regional High School

“We’re proud to be able to offer this tournament, both as a way for the athletes to compete and showcase their talents, but also to make scholarships available to participants,” said tournament organizer Peter Trainor.
