ART EXHIBITS AT MOUNT WACHUSETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE

(GARDNER) — The works of artists, Debi Libuda and Shawn Weaver, will be on display in the East Wing Art Gallery at Mount Wachusett Community College through Sat., Feb. 6. A reception for the artists will be held Sat., Jan. 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is open to the public.

Libuda, a resident of Newburyport, formerly of Holden, is exhibiting her Recent Paintings. A landscape painter, she describes her oil paintings as experimental, abstract, and based on nature. Libuda graduated from MWCC’s Art Degree in 1986 and transferred to Southeastern Massachusetts University, now UMASS, Dartmouth. She graduated with a BFA in Painting and a BFA in Graphic Design.

Weaver, a Boston resident, formerly of Fitchburg, is exhibiting his ceramic and oil Sculptures and Painting. He describes his ceramic work as "figurative, playful, and whimsical." Weaver uses images of angels, bunnies, fruits, nuts and other playful figures in creating his organic sculptures. Weaver attended MWCC as an Art student from 1984 to 1986 before transferring to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and graduating in 1989.
