Murals Around Gardner

The Art Department had the vision to create murals around Gardner. Each year, murals are painted by art students. Over time, this will become an attraction and help revitalize the city with color. By contributing to the community, art students gain experience in mural painting. They earn service learning credit for their transcript and resume. Murals have been painted for the former Goodnow Pearson Building, Gardner Ale House, and Cruisers Malt Shop. Johnny Appleseed Country initiated a project: ski lift benches were donated by Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, fabricated into park benches by Montachusett Regional Vocational High School students, and painted by our art students. The benches will be placed in towns throughout central Massachusetts. A mural was completed at the School Street School, West Street parking lot, and electric boxes.
