CSG 744 / Preparation for the Communication and Literacy Skills Test (CLST) Portion of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL)
Massachusetts law requires candidates for initial educator licensure in Massachusetts to meet several requirements, including passing a test of Communication and Literacy Skills. The CLST must be taken and passed before a student is accepted into a four-year Early Childhood or Elementary Education program. Students sometimes fail the CLST because they are not adequately prepared to take the tests. Participation in this workshop will help students prepare to take and pass the CLST. Some topics included are English and grammar, writing thesis statements, writing essays, and summarizing reading passages.
