Internet and Computer Core Certification (IC3)

IC3 is a standards-based certification program for basic computing and Internet literacy. It provides specific guidelines for the knowledge and skills required to be a productive user of computer hardware, software, networks and the Internet. By establishing this vendor-independent standard, IC3 provides a reliable, universal measure of basic computing aptitude.

Individuals seeking IC3 certification are required to take and pass all three IC3 exams: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.

Computing Fundamentals (12 hours)

Skills training and assessment for a broad range of computing concepts and techniques. Gain competency in computer hardware and software and operating systems.

Key Applications (24 hours)

Gain competency in common program, word processing and spreadsheet functions.

Living Online (12 hours)

Gain competency in networks and the Internet, electronic mail, and understand the impact computing and the Internet have on society.
