1. The LaChance Library has designated areas to accommodate differing levels of noise: “Quiet Areas” These include Reference and Circulation areas on the Main Level, as well as study rooms on the Lower Level. Noise should be maintained at levels that ensure a quiet environment for study. Normal conversational noise levels are permitted for study purposes only. Headphones may be used; however noise from headphones must not be audible to others. Laptop computers may be operated. The only exceptions to the noise-level policy are the Library workrooms and offices. “Silent areas” The Mezzanine level has been designated as a “Silent” study area. No talking or whispering is allowed. 2. Cellular telephones may not be used in the Library. 3. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that noise is limited to the appropriate level. If someone is making too much noise, they will be given one warning. If they continue to make noise they may be asked to leave the library. Library patrons are encouraged to request assistance from the Library staff if the noise level is excessive.
